Anambra Command CP Tasks Residents On Timely, Credible Information
Mr Echeng Echeng, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra Command says provision of credible and timely information will help effectively fight against crime in the state.
Echeng who said this in a Statement on Wednesday urged residents of the state to sustain the tempo at which they were volunteering useful information to the police and other security agencies.
The Statement which was signed by DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra said the Command had been able to burst crime following intelligence.
He said Nebolisa Daniels, a 29 member of a crime syndicated was arrested on Saturday with guns and other weapons.
He said the suspect was already making useful confessions that would aid the arrest of his fleeing gang members.
“The CP is making this plea following a recent feat accomplished by the Command, a feat which he attributed to credible intelligence made possible by members of the public.
“It would be recalled that on Oct 11, Police operatives in Anambra bursted a criminal hideout at Afor Nwafia, Njikoka LGA and arrested one Daniel Nebolisa M aged 29yrs,
“Police recovered one double barrel locally fabricated pistol, one single barrel locally fabricated pistol, twenty-one live cartridge, five expended cartridges and one AK 47 ammunition all concealed in a bag.
“The suspect who is already helping the police with information to apprehend other gang members, confessed that he was awaiting other members of his gang at the time of his arrest by the police,” he stated.
Ikenga said the CP Anambra residents to go about their lawful businesses and while reassuring of the Command’s avowed commitment to do everything within its powers to maintain public security and safety in the State.
