Anambra FA Cup: Aspire, Peace FCs win opening matches
Defending champions, Aspire FC, Adazi-Ani on Tuesday commenced their campaigns in the 2022 Anambra FA Cup with a convincing 6-0 win over Uncle Ralph FC of Mgbakwu in a match decided at the Chuba Ikpeazu Mini Stadium, Onitsha.
A total of 16 teams are taking part in the competition holding at three venues including Chuba Ikpeazu, NEROS Stadium and Tansi Int’l College football pitch in Okpuno, Awka.
Two football teams will also compete in the female category.
Peace FC based in Awka trounced Future Hope FC of Nkpor 3- 0 to earn the maximum point in their opening game at the NEROS Stadium, Nanka.
In other opening games, DOSAD FC, Enugu-Ukwu beat Ozalla FA of Onitsha 2 -0 while Global FC, Onitsha had a 3-0 win against Fortune FC, Onitsha Tansi.
In the second day of the competition, De Wilson FC, Awka will square up with Galaxy FC of Onitsha at NEROS Stadium while All Stars FC, Ogbaru will play Pope John Paul FC, Okpuno at Ikpeazu stadium Onitsha.
Emmy King FC, Nsugbe will have a date with Big T FC Umunnya at Tansi Int’l College pitch while Ssnky FC, Ogbaru and Nnewi United, Nnewi will slug it out in Onitsha.
