Insecurity: Anambra Peace Commission Considers 24 Petitions
The Anambra Truth Justice and Peace Commission (ATJPC) says it has considered 24 petitions within 10 days of its public hearing.
Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Chairman of ATJPC disclosed this in Awka on Monday.
Odinkalu said the Commission had met with no fewer than 48 witnesses who testified on oath from 14 communities of the state.
He said the Commission had received 170 items as exhibits so far.
According to the Chairman, in 10 days of public hearings in Awka, Anambra until 30 June, the Truth Justice & Peace Commission, received 170 exhibits.
“We met with 140 persons, heard from 48 witnesses on oath, examined the situation in 14 communities and considered 24 petitions,” he said.
The ATJPC constituted by the Anambra Government in June 2022 to interact with violence affected people and members of the public to unravel the causes of insecurity with a view to finding sustainable
peace in the state.
