118 Markets Set To Trade Tackle In Second Anambra Traders Sports Fiesta
Draws have been held for the second Anambra State Traders Sports Competition scheduled to kick off on Oct. 7.
A total of 118 registered markets will take part in the competition which will feature five sporting events including Tennis, Table Tennis,Draft, Ncho and football.
The traders sports competition is organised by Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ASSDC) in collaboration with the Anambra State Amalgamated Market Traders Association (ASMATA)
Speaking at the draws held at ASMATA House Onitsha, Patrick-Estate Onyedum, Chairman of ASSDC the state government through the Sports Commission would not relent in harnessing sporting talents in markets within the state.
Onyedum who is the Chairman of the Main Organising Committee said the second edition promised a lot of sporting excitement and talent discovery.
He urged the markets to ensure they turn up for their games and on time noting that the organisers would not tolerate walkovers
The markets were divided into seven zones including Idemili, Oyi, Nnewi, Ogbaru, Aguata, Awka and Onitsha which was further divided into two of Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium and Godwin Achebe stadium fegge.
Other venues for the games are Idemili (Rojenny Stadium), Oyi zone (Akpokoogwe Central School Ogidi), Nnewi zone (Nnewi High School), .Ogbaru zone (Metroogical Institute Obosi.)
Aguata zone (Federal Polytechnic Oko) and Awka Zone, (All Saint Anglican Pitch)
