FG Inaugurates NUMTEN Chapter In Anambra Appoints IPMAN Boss Patron
The Federal Government through the Ministry of Labour and Employment has inaugurated the Anambra State Chapter of the National Union of Market Traders Employers of Nigeria, (NUMTEN).
Bernadine Oji-Ogbuehi, Controller of Labour and Employment in Anambra conducted the inauguration ceremony of State and Local Government chapter executives of the Union in Awka, on Friday.
Bernadine urged the new leadership to discharge their responsibilities with collaboration with government, traders and other relevant stakeholders to achieve the union’s set objectives.
She said the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was committed to working with NUMTEN to promote social security and to the benefits of traders across Nigeria.

She appealed to the new executive to always apply dialogue in dealing with issues between the union, government and the public at large.
The Controller promised Federal Government’s support for NUMTEM activites while urging them to always follow the laid down grievance procedure in resolving disputes.
On his part, Mr Ogu Chukwuma, the National President of NUMTEN, appreciated the Federal Government for establishing NUMTEN and certifying it as a trade unionn.
Chukwuma said the aim of formulating the union was to alleviate, if not completely eradicate the sufferings of Nigeria traders as well as employers.
He promised that the union would abide the rules of its engagement, in addition to helping government bring down, high cost of items in the nation’s markets, .
Mr Nnamsom Nwafor-Orizu, the pioneer Chairman of NUMTEM in Anambra, who spoke on behalf of other members of the executive said activities of the union had started in earnest.
He said that their duty was to oversee all the activities in the over 64 markets in Anambra and as well serve as a bridge between the traders and the government of the day.
Mr Chinedu Anyaso. Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Enugu Depot was appointed patron of NUMTEN, Anambra Chapter.
Anyaso charged the group to discharge their duty in support of humanity while promising to o play the needed fatherly role as a patron of the body.
