Anambra 2025: Nwosu Deplores Insecurity, Promises To Deploy Technology If Elected
Mr John Nwosu, a top aspirant in the 2025 governorship election in Anambra says the security architecture now in place in Anambra had collapsed.
Nwosu who is contesting for the ticket of the Labour Party said this in Awka on Friday while reacting to recent attacks and abductions in Anambra.
The Information Communication Technology expert said the challenge required innovative thinking to address.
He called on the Anambra government and the allied security agencies to be proactive and more robust in tackling the situation.
“I just learnt about the attack and abduction of three persons in Nnewi, this latest abduction is just one of many such attacks occurring in various parts of Anambra.
“I want to join in calling out the Anambra State Government and the allied security agencies to be proactive and more robust in tackling such horrific attacks and kidnappings.
“If left unchecked, the prevailing situation will further erode the confidence of domestic and foreign investors as well as small business owners.
“On the eve of the Christmas and New Year festivities, the expansive level of insecurity is deeply frightening,” he said.
He said there was a need to take measures that would guarantee lives if citizens s d property in view of the increased activities as Christmas and new year season approaches.
According to him, the challenge at hand called for creativity and deployment of the appropriate technologies to interdict the perpetrators and ameliorate the prevailing concerns.
“As an IT expert, if I am elected governor in 2025, I will procure and deploy all the needed technology required to sanitise our environment, and raise the efficacy of our policing modalities in the state.
“As I have always reiterated, the protection of lives and properties will be our top most priority,” he said.
