Anambra APC Crisis Deepens As Awogu Insists Anosike ‘Must Go’

Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra says he is still the authentic and valid treasurer of the party as elected on March 3 state congress.

Awogu who is the Candidate of APC for Ogbaru Federal Constituency said this in an interview on Thursday.

He insisted that Anosike must respond to the allegations of financial impropriety against him and refrain from his illegal mission to foist an illegitimate chairman on the LGA.

He said the chairman also tried to remove the treasurer position zoned to Ogbaru in the state executive committee from there.

He said Anosike who was a product of the same Congress with him lacked the powers to unilaterally remove him or anybody else from the executive committee nor to whimsically swap offices of the party against the zoning arrangement.

Awogu dismissed as diversionary the report of Anosike’s petition to the Inspector General of police over accusations of fraud and cyberbullying and challenged him to respond to the issues rather than running to Police cover.

He also called in APC leadership at the national level to investigate Anosike for his sinister interference in the affairs Ogbaru Chapter of the party where he chose to work with a non APC member who did not participate in the Congress as Chairman of the LG chapter.

He said man Anosike vowed to impose on Ogbaru APC was a YPP member who was a personal aide of a sitting lawmaker in a different party .

“We have a Chairman who was produced through a Congress organised and monitored by our party on Feb. 21 before Anosike came on board but he chose to work with somebody who up till now is not a registered member of APC in Ogbaru.

“This was why I took the matter to court but instead of correcting himself, he hurriedly announced that he has removed me from office, he does not have such power

“Sen. Anosike also singlehandedly swapped the office of the treasurer which was zoned to Ogbaru with that of the Zonal Secretary, this is both reckless and illegal.

“I therefore reiterate my call on the national leadership of the party to remove Anosike from office and save APC from electoral doom and national embarrassment, the management of the funds of the party should also be seriously investigated,” he said.

Awogu said part of the frustrations of Anosike was his unfruitful attempt to frustrate genuine and capable members of APC from emerging as candidates in a bid to present weak ones and give his allies in the opposition easy win in the January general election.
