Anambra Pilgrims Board, Information Ministry Partner On Promotion Of Faith Values
The Anambra Pilgrims Welfare Board promised to work with the State Ministry of Information and Value Reformation towards promotion of values unity and religious harmony.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA)to the Gov.Chikwuma Soludo on Pilgrims made the pledge when he led members of his team on a courtesy call to the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation in Awka.
Ezeh said the Pilgrims board was committed to ensuring that the people of Anambra benefitted from the huge investment and opportunities provided by the governor in the area of values, faith, unity, and responsible citizenship.
He said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Pilgrims Office and the Ministry in the areas of public enlightenment, effective information dissemination, and improved stakeholders’ engagement on pilgrimage matters
He said the Deputy Governor was working on developing an exchange programme on pilgrimage which would attract more intending pilgrims to the State, create more job opportunities and improve Internal Generated Revenue.
“Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has continued to demonstrate remarkable interest and investment in pilgrimage affairs, recognising its spiritual, social, and economic prosperity of the people of the State.
“Pilgrims Office plays a critical role in coordinating and facilitating welfare of intending pilgrims, documentation processes, sensitisation and liaising with relevant national and international pilgrimage authorities,” he said.
Ezeh appreciated Soludo and his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim for giving him the opportunity and support to serve the state in that capacity.
In his response, Dr Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation said the visit was in order as there was a need to properly educate intending pilgrims on the true essence of pilgrimage.
Mefor said pilgrimage should not be viewed merely as a social visit or tourism experience, but as a period of spiritual reflection and personal transformation.
He said everyone was a pilgrim on earth urging that people should strive to leave behind positive footprints in the sands of time.
He pledged the Ministry’s support to the Pilgrimage Welfare Board whenever it was necessary.
“The Ministry will provide media platforms, including radio programmes, to promote the activities of the Pilgrims Office and enlighten Anambra people,” he said.
