Anambra Restates Commitment To Upholding Olympic Values—– Sports Commissioner

Patrick Agha Mba, Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development in Anambra says the state is fully committed to sustaining and promoting the values and spirit of the Olympic Movement.
Mba said this during the Olympic Day celebration in Awka on Saturday.
No fewer than 500 men and women from all ages and from across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state took part in the Walk which started at the ABS compound and terminated at the Awka Township Stadium.
He said the Anambra was joining the Olympic community across the world to celebrate unity and healthy living through sports.
He said the Gov. Chukwuma Soludo administration was particularly interested in promoting fitness, peace, love and togetherness across all ages
“Today, Anambra joins millions across the world to celebrate this year’s Olympic Day and restate our commitment to the Olympic spirit.
“For us, it is not just today, it is about awareness on grassroots sports development and physical fitness, so we will continue with activity beyond today, we will make it a lifestyle.
“We are not merely participating in the global trend but we are leading others,” he said.
Mba commended the governor for completing the Ekwulobia Township Stadium with Sports club as well as key foundation for greater Anambra with massive physical infrastructure across the state.
There were also aerobics and acrobatic displays during the event.
Certificate of participation were issued to those who took part in the celebration.
