Fegge Beat Holy Spirit 2-1 In Anambra All Stars Soccer Championship Opener

Fegge All Stars of Onitsha on Sunday defeated Holy Spirit FC of Onitsha in the opening game of the Anambra All Stars Soccer championship played at the Awka township stadium.
The championship which is meant for ex footballers of 40 years and above is organised by the Anambra State Football Association (AnSFA) in collaboration with Chakapain Pharmaceuticals.
Defending champions, Fegge All Stars opened the scoring in the first half and extended the lead after the break before Holy Spirit got a consolation goal to reduce the rally to 2-1.
Efforts by the hard fighting Holy Spirit men to draw level including a large minute scramble failed as Fegge All Stars walked away with three points
A total of 25 teams are taking part in the competition.
Chikelue Iloenyosi, Chairman of AnSFA said the All Stars Game which started in 2023 was the brainchild of his administration and the first of its kind.
Chikelue said the championship was put together to give ex footballers the opportunity to re-live their past and maintain physical and mental fitness for healthier life.
He appreciated Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for providing the enabling environment for sports to thrive in Anambra as well as appointing Patrick-Agha Mba, a man with good knowledge of sports to oversee the sector.
