SWAN Hails Madubuko’s Appointment As Member Of NFF Beach Soccer, Futsal Board
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has congratulated Prof. Victor Madubuko, Chairman of Anambra State Beach Soccer Association on his appointment as a member of the newly constituted interim Beach Soccer, Futsal Leagues Board.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) constituted the board at its executive committee meeting held on Saturday in Asaba, Delta State.
The NFF said the interim board was saddled with the organisation of Beach Soccer and Futsal leagues in the country.
Chimezie Anaso, Chairman of SWAN in Anambra who reacted to the development in an interview in Awka on Sunday described the appointment of Madubuko as a deserving recognition for one who singlehandedly built Beach Soccer in the state.
The SWAN chairman expressed confidence in the capacity of Madubuko to add value to the development and success of Beach Soccer and Futsal leagues in Nigeria through his activities as a member of the board.
“Sports writers in Anambra are delighted with the news of the appointment of Prof. Madubuko as a member of the NFF interim board for Beach Soccer and Futsal leagues.
“Madubuko represents everything that Beach Soccer is in Anambra, he founded the association, he is funding the association and also the state team known as Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.
“He built a beach soccer stadium, hosted the Nigeria Beach Soccer League here and inspired the state team to win one national league season cup, all within a period of four years.
“On behalf of members of SWAN in Anambra, I wish to extend our message of congratulations to him and also say that we are proud to associate with him on this appointment,” he said.
According to the NFF communiqué, Mahmud Hadejia will serve as Chairman of the board whileDele Gbajumo, Nkopuye Ukpe, Abdul-Nasir Adamu Senchi, Mohammed-Bukar Alau and Onome Ebi.
Saraki-Rasheed Oladimeji will be the Chief Executive Officer while the Chief Operating Officer will be appointed by the General Secretary.
