Konti FC, Golden Boys Win Opening Super 8 Finals Football Games
Konti FC Umunnachi and GP World FA, Onitsha on Monday started their quest for ‘My Anambra Super 8’ Cup on a winning note with a 1-0 and 2-0 win over Ifechikwu FC of Omor and Golden Boys FC of Onitsha respectively.
Konti FC secured their victory through Miracle Udoh who took advantage of a dead ball situation and headed home the ball in the 16th minute of the first Group A game played at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha.

The victory ensured Konti secured three maximum points to top the group as the score line remain unchanged for the rest of the match as the second half did not produce any goal.
GP World on their part topped Group B with two goals from Onuigbo Chinemerem in the 69th minute and Oguchi Echezona in the 88th minute on the first day of hostilities.
Rangels FC and Pope John Paul FC played 0-0 in the second Group A match to share points.
In Group B, SmithCity FC, Awka played out a barren draw with Mekon FC Umunze secure one point each in Group B.
Emeka Okonkwo, Proprietor of Konti FC expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team but admitted that there was room for improvement if his team must make it to the final on April 3.
Okonkwo commended Ifechikwu FC for their quality of play adding that the organisers have done a great job.

On his part, Frank Nnaemeka, Captain of Ifechikwu FC blames their loss on bad luck.
Nnaemeka said he was confident that his team would return to winning ways in their next game to keep them in contention for the grand finale.
A total of eight amateur clubs based in Anambra qualified for the Super 8 finals from the 27 teams that participated in the playoffs in February.
‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 is organised by Anambra State Football Association and sponsored by Aspire FC, Adazi-Ani.
The competition will end on April 3 at NEROS Football Stadium, Nanka.
