Mbaukwu Progressives Back Anambra Gov’t On ASATU-Women Wing Caretaker Committee
A group, under the aeigis of Concerned Mbaukwu Progressive (CMP) has commended the Anambra State Government for setting up a caretaker committee for ASATU-Women Wing pending the conduct of election.
The group also condemned plot by agents of distabilisation who were sponsoring a feud between the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, Igwe P. Anugwu, the Igwe of Mbaukwu and his son, H.E Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the deputy governor of Anambra State
The Concerned Mbaukwu Progressives described the action of the state government as most commendable, said the intervention became necessary to curtail the excess of a cabal which disregarded all government guidelines and procedures for organizing ASATU elections in Anambra.
According to them, Mbaukwu is one of the communities in Anambra State and as such should conform to the provisions of the law of the state.
“The government remedied the illegality which the elements of distabilisation orchestrated in their bid to cause crisis within Mbaukwu and put the community at crossroads with the government of the day.
“We condemn and reject the wicked attempt to sponsor a feud between father and son in the persons of Mr. deputy governor and the Igwe of Mbaukwu.
“These overzealous agents should desist from sponsoring articles in the media targeted at tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of the great personalities but instead channel their energies to the development of the Mbaukwu,” they said.
The Mbaukwu Progressives which expressed gratitude to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for finding Ibezim, a son of the Community to serve with him in his government pledged total loyalty and support for his programmes and policies
They urged the government to remain focused and Mbaukwu was united and in total support of their son while expressing confidence in the ability of the Ministry of Women Affairs to act in the best interest of women across the state.
“We must say that the mission of these detractors is dead on arrival because Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the solution governor and his deputy Dr Onyakachukwu Ibezim will not be distracted.
“They have remained focused on delivering their campaign promises and good governance toi Mbaukwu and Anambra in general.
“The Ibezim family and the Anugwu family have a track record of peaceful relationship which the proponents of disunity can not smear or malign.
“The deputy governor is one of the answers to the many prayers of His Majesty, Mbaukwu Community, Obizi clan, the Awka South LGA and Anambra Central Senatorial District in general.
“Mbaukwu Community is grateful to God as Mr Governor. charged them in Mbaukwu on Feb.11 2023 during the commissioning of a road project in the community,” they said.
