Nchekwube Declares Interest For Awka North Council Chairmanship
Chief Anthony Nchekwube, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship of Awka North Local Government Council.
Nchekwube who is the Convener and National Coordinator of APGA Apostles Forum said this in Awka on Saturday.
The Anambra State Independent National Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has announced timetable for the 2026 council election scheduled to hold in August.
He promised that he would build a functional, secure and productive Awka North through open governance, strong community participation if elected.
He said he was bringing experience, integrity and a clear plan to purposeful leadership that would engender grassroots development across the 14 political wards of the area.
“As Convener of the APGA Apostles Forum and former eight years APGA Anambra State Auditor, I have a clear record of mobilisation, accountability and steady engagement.
“We will work with farmers, youths, women groups and traditional institutions.
“My vision aligns with Governor Soludo’s People-Centered Manifesto.
“My good people, I respectfully seek your support, prayers and kind consideration to be the next chairman of Awka North Local Government Council,” he said.
