NMA Says Soludo’s Appointments In Health Sector Confirms With Global Practice
The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Anambra Branch has commended Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for appointing core medical professionals into key positions of the state’s health sector.
The NMA which made the commendation in a Statement on Thursday, appreciated Soludo for the appointment saying it would enhance service delivery in the sector.
The Statement was signed by Dr. Okam Princeston and Dr. Obiaeli Ifeanyi, its Chairman and Secretary respectively.
Recall that Soludo recently made appointments into key departments of the healthcare sector.
The appointees include Dr Ezeaka Uwaeme as Executive Secretary, Anambra State
Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) and Dr Obianuju Chinelo Okoye as Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
He also appointed Dr Nkem Okeke as Executive Director, Anambra State AIDS Control Agency.
The association said the appointments reflected a commendable commitment to merit, professionalism and the strengthening of healthcare governance in Anambra.
“The NMA Anambra Branch, warmly acknowledges and appreciates your recent appointments of distinguished medical professionals to key leadership positions within the state’s health sector.
“We particularly commend you for the appointment of Uwaeme, Okoye and Okeke into these key offices.
“The NMA is especially pleased with the corrective step taken in appointing a qualified medical doctor as the Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
“This decision
aligns with global best practices, where leadership of primary healthcare systems is entrusted to professionals with appropriate clinical and public health training, ensuring effective policy implementation and improved health outcomes,” it said.
The NMA said it was confident that the appointees, given their experience and professional competence, would contribute significantly to advancing the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of healthcare delivery across Anambra.
The NMA reiterated its commitment to continued collaboration with the Soludo’s administration in the pursuit of a robust, equitable and a sustainable health system in Anambra.
