Obi Commends Bishop Kukah For Life of Service to God, Humanity
Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party joined millions of Nigerians to celebrate Most Revd Matthew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese as he clocked 70.
Obi in his Congratulatory Message described Kukah as a conscience of the nation darkened by corruption, injustice and immorality.
The former Anambra State governor commended Kuka for his life of service to God and humanity, adding that he had remained consistent in pointing the nation to the way of light, through his priestly ministry.
The frontline candidate for the 2023 presidential election said Kukah had been courageous in the face of difficulties and never shied away from the truth, or afraid to speak truth to power in the face of evil.
Obi said Kukah was a sincere patriot, an apostle of education, lover of the country who was committed to building a better nation.
“As I rejoice with you on your 70th birthday, I must say that yours have been 70 impactful years in the church and in society.
“You have remained a consistent voice against corruption, oppression, injustice and evil, which pervade every part of our nation.
“By your preachings, writings and lifestyle, you have continued to point men to the right way of life.
“You have, in many ways, written your name in the hearts of men, by your lifestyle of charity and humility,” he said.
Obi said the Bishop had continued to encourage and invest in education, for the good of the people and development of the nation.
Obi prayed to God to grant the Bishop more wisdom to lead, health to work and grace to run the race till the end.
