“We have progressed from a humble beginning and expanded to what you are witnessing here today.
“This scheme was not set up because there is so much money because there can never be enough, we are into this because we believe that little gestures can assist some intelligent but indigent youths to get education.
”So far, this foundation has spent approximately N200 million empowering youths to access quality education,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Mr Dozie Nwankwo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District commended the Obinabo Foundation for gesture and consistency.
Nwankwo said it was a good way to complement the effort of state and federal governments and that it was in line with his philosophy of supporting formal and vocational education.
He promised that if elected into the Red Chambers, he would make both formal and vocational education his first line charge for the Constituency.
”Education is the key to our secure future and the best a society can offer to its younger generation and secure the future of the country.
“I have been part of this foundation since inception and I am here to also contribute modestly to the empowerment of the youth of Ifitedunu and Anambra Central Senatorial District ” he said.
Miss Chinelo Agamba who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries said the scholarship foundation had been of great assistance to her at all levels of education.
Agamba, a student of University of Nigeria Nsukka, said she started benefiting from second year to final year.
“It is not easy for someone to bring out money to support total strangers without any expectation.
”I pray that God will keep him alive so that he will continue the good work for others to equally benefit.
“Being rich is one thing and being generous is another thing, so, I urge some of these rich people in our society to also partake in helping others that really deserve help,” she said.
