SEGOF Hails Nigerian Workers On May Day
The Southeast Governors Forum (SEGOF), has extended warm wishes to Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration.
Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Director General of the forum who said this in her goodwill message on Thursday, applauded workers for their dedication to national growth and productivity across all sectors.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate”.
Ekwunife said this year’s celebration theme resonated deeply with the Forum’s development vision, which included creating a safe and enabling environment for workers across the region.
The Statement was was signed by Tony Ezike, her Special Adviser, Media and Publicity.
According to her, we, the SEGOF commend the resilience, diligence, and patriotism of the Nigerian workforce; they are the backbone of the country’s development and progress.
She said SEGOF under the leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma, was driving a bold and transformative development agenda which focused on regional integration, enhanced security, and inclusive economic advancement.
“The Forum’s mission is clear, to transform the Southeast into a hub of opportunity, innovation, and prosperity.
“We are making strategic investments in infrastructure, security, and economic empowerment to create a region where hard work is recognised and rewarded,” she said.
She reaffirmed the Forum’s collective commitment to building a safer, more united Southeast by leveraging the region’s human capital and natural resources to unlock its full potential.
Ekwunife encouraged Nigerian workers to continue supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, noting that national progress demands shared responsibility, patriotism, and unity of purpose.
