Ikemba Front President Thumbs Up Tinubu’s Refusal To Endorse Soludo
Ikemba Front, the flagship political support structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for not supporting the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) nor its candidate, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo during his visit to the state.
Ikemba Front in a letter entitled “Your Visit Has Made Us, the APC Anambra Chapter Stronger” said on Sunday that the President had sent a strong message that he was a true partyman
The letter which was signed by Chief Arinzechukwu Awogu and Mr Ikechukwu Ikeobi, the National Coordinator and the National Secretary of the group respectively said the President’s one-day visit to Anambra was a blessing to the APC.
“It was an anticlimax for the members of the ruling APGA and its governorship candidate, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who had hoped to use the visit to enhance his chances of re-election through Mr President’s endorsement.
“APGA and Soludo have since after the visit been reduced in popularity and are now less boastful and audacious in their carriage following the president’s blunt refusal to heed the plea of some influential persons that he should endorse Soludo’s dead on arrival second term dream.
“They were roundly disappointed and their brains have been reset to realise that the president is a true partyman who wants his own party to win in Anambra State,” he said.
Speaking further, Awogu said that the crowd of APC supporters that trooped out in their thousands to welcome the president at the Airport and at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka was a testament to the strength of APC in Anambra.
Ikemba Front commended Chief Basil Ejidike, the chairman of APC in Anambra for his ability to manage the party well as well as Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, APC candidate for his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate.
“The plot to deceive the president into endorsing Prof. Soludo failed irretrievably, they invited to commission an uncompleted Fun City and Government House but that could not have been the reason for pulling Mr. President of Anambra State,” it said.
The Anambra State governorship election is scheduled toh eld on Nov. 8.
