CVR: Soludo Urges Anambra Residents To Update Voter Registration
The Government of Anambra has called on residents of the state to seize the opportunity of the ongoing Continues Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to update their statuses to be eligible to vote on Nov. 8.
Dr Law Mefor, the Commissioner for Information in Anambra made the call in Awka on Wednesday.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced the CVR across all 326 wards on July 8 and would continue till July 17 between 9am and 3pm daily.
Mefor said the CVR was part of efforts to strengthen democracy and ensure inclusive participation in the Nov. 8, governorship election in the State as well as future elections in Nigeria.
He said the window was for those who turned 18 years recently, those who relocated to Anambra and wished to transfer their voting rights and those who have lost or defaced their voter cards and needed to replace them.
“The Anambra Government is urging all eligible citizens to take advantage of the ongoing CVR exercise announced by INEC.
“Government encourages everyone who falls within these categories to visit their nearest registration center and complete the registration process
,” he said.
