Soludo Inaugurates Construction Of St. Stephen’s Road In Onitsha

 

 

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo on Monday inaugurated the construction of St. Stephen’s Road by the Emmanuel Church Road junction in Onitsha.

 

 

Soludo said the project was part of efforts to enhance infrastructure and revitalise the urban landscape of the commercial town of Onitsha, especially the internal roads.

 

The governor talked about his administration’s efforts to engender extensive infrastructure developments in Okpoko, Ochanja market and numerous infrastructure projects in the area.

 

“This project is just the beginning of our plans for Onitsha inland, we are adopting a comprehensive approach to improving the city’s infrastructure and environment,” he said.

 

Soludo called for a moment of silence in memory of the late Justice Azuka, the lawmaker representing Onitsha 1 State Constituency who was killed by his abductors.

 

He said the untimely death of Azuka was a huge loss to the state and community while assuring his government’s commitment to security.

 

He said some of the suspects linked to the incident had been apprehended and undergoing prosecution.

 

“We will work tirelessly to restore our societal values and eliminate those who act with impunity,” he stated.

 

Soludo said quality political representation was important and urged the people of Onitsha North Constituency One to elect the Candidate ofv All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Ms Mimi Azikiwe, in the upcoming bye-election on Aug. 16.

 

“With APGA’s majority in the state House of Assembly, it is vital for you to support a candidate who can effectively advocate for your community,” he said.

 

Mr Patrick Aghamba,The Commissioner for Youth Development commended Soludo Soludo’s contributions to Onitsha in the areas of water supply, road infrastructure, and educational opportunities.

 

Mr Tony Nworah, Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Council said he was hopeful of APGA victory in the upcoming

elections in the state.
