Obiako, Ex-International, Rangers goalie diagnosed of enlarged heart, needs N5M for surgery
A veteran goalkeeper and retired football coach, Paul Obiako has been diagnosed with heart enlargement.
Obiako who was a member of the CKC team that won the World Academic in Dublin ’77 has cried out to Nigerians for financial assistance.
He was also in goal for the then Green Eagles.
He said the ailment was first diagnosed in 2015 but was mildly treated and that he had managed until 2020 when it became worse and he became increasing weak.
Obiako who was in goal for Rangers International of Enugu between 1979 and 1989 said he was presently admitted at Heartland Cardiovascular Consultant Hospital on TY Danjuma Street, Asokoro Abuja.
He said the surgery needed to correct the enlarged heart which required a sum of N5 million and that he could not afford having retired from active service.
“My people, I am a retired civil servant, I don’t have such money neither does my wife.
“I need your financial assistance so that I can come out this sicknesses and live normal life again, please I need help,” he said.
Obiako was coach to Anambra football team for years before going into retirement.
