Anambra Opens Application For skill, Entrepreneurial Training Feb.
The Anambra government says it will open applications for its “One Youth, Two Skills Close the Gap Initiative” for youths between the ages 18 years and 45 years by February.
Mr Patrick Aghamba, Commissioner for Youth Empowerment said this while addressing some volunteers of the programme in Awka on Thursday.
The no fewer than 100 volunteers included liaison officers, desk officers and Local Government Council Chairmen representatives across the 21 LGAs in the State.
Aghamba said the target for the first phase of the One Youth, Two Skills Solution” was 130,000 persons with expected participants from the 179 communities of the state.
He described the ongoing pilot exercise for 5,000 trainees as hugely successful.
He called on the volunteers to intensify their sensitisation efforts to ensure the message got to the nooks and crannies of the state and that every eligible youth enrolled for the training.
The Commissioner said the programme was in line with the government’s agenda to raise 1,000 millionaires every year through marketable skills and entrepreneurship.
He urged youths to take advantage of the opportunity and register for the training through their town union leaderships, churches, local government councils and its partners including the ministry of agriculture.
