Orogbu, Ezeonu To Speak At 2026 ARD–NAUTH Leadership Summit
Dr Jane Ezeonu, the Director of Medical Services, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka will be one of the speakers at the leadership summit of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH).
Ezeonu is a Consultant Community Medicine Physician and a former Chairman of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State Chapter.
The Summit organised by the Medical Education Committee (MEC)ARD–NAUTH will hold virtually on Monday, Sept. 21 at 3pm.
The theme of the lecture is *Beyond Clinical Practice: Developing Resident Doctors As Future Healthcare Leaders And Strengthening The Management–Resident Doctor Partnership”.
The event was announced in a Statement signed by Dr Chiamaka Chidozie and Dr Assumpta Aham, the chairman and
secretary respectively of the Medical Education Committee on behalf of Dr Nwabueze Okeke, the President of ARD-NAUTH.
The Statement said Prof. Lillian Orogbu, the member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly would deliver the Keynote Address while Dr Odili Okoye, Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee and Mrs Chika Ikeanyionwu, the Ag Director of Administration both of NAUTH will also speak.
It said the leadership training would equip doctors in residency with the human and material management skills as well as policy formulating to complement their core medical profession training.
“Clinical competence is essential but the future of healthcare will also be shaped by doctors who understand leadership, administration, governance, communication and public service.
“This landmark webinar brings together distinguished leaders from the legislature, hospital management, clinical governance and healthcare administration for one important conversation,” it said.
Sub-themes of the event are “Beyond the Consulting Room: Preparing Resident Doctors for Administrative Leadership, Public Service, Policy Influence and Nation-Building, “Clinical Governance and Residency Training: Strengthening Professional Development, Patient Safety and Quality of Care and “The Doctor as an Administrator: Essential Skills for Leading People, Managing Resources and Delivering Quality Healthcare.
The other is “Understanding Hospital Administration: Effective Communication, Institutional Procedures and Building a Productive Management–Resident Doctor Relationship”.
