“Ikemba Front’ Congratulates sen. Ubah On Appointment As Chairman Committee On Petroleum Downstream
Ikemba Front, a political movement in Anambra has congratulated Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah on this appointment as chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream and vice chairman Senate Committee on Solid Minerals
Ubah is representing Anambra South Sensational District in the National Assembly.
Chief Arinzechukwu Awogu, the National Coordinator Ikemba Front who sent the congratulatory message described the appointment as well deserved
“Your chairmanship of the Senate committees on Petroleum Downstream and Vice Chairman of Solid Minerals are testaments to your immense contributions to the development and operations of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry which has spanned for decades.
“We join other Nigerians and people of Anambra to celebrate you, we are confident that your appointments are timely and will help us navigate through the current challenges facing both sectors which are drivers of our national economy,” he said.
The group called on Ubah to facilitate the amendment of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) law to include Anambra as a member state having joined the league of oil producing states with 11 oil wells, eight of which are in Ogbaru Local Government Area under OML 143.
According to him, it is on record that Anambra was officially recognised as a petroleum-bearing and oil-producing state on July 27, 2021.
“It is also on record that Anambra started receiving mineral derivation revenue from the Federation Account in July 2022, a year after its recognition as an oil-bearing state.
“It is our warmest thoughts and prayers that the Almighty God will guide you rightly in this critical national engagement,” he said.
Arinze said the group wished Ubah success in his new role of leading the senate petroleum downstream committee and the solid minerals.
