Nwosu Condoles Nibo Community Over Mass Shooting
Mr John Nwosu, a chieftain of the Labour Party has expressed heartfelt condolences to the people of Nibo Community in Awka South Local Government Area following the mass shooting which resulted in the death of over 10 persons on Sunday.
Recall that some gunmen stormed Nibo during their ‘Onwa Asaa’ festival and opened fire on residents leaving many dead and others wounded.
Nwosu, a top contender in the 2025 governorship election described the development as extremely sad and troubling which underpinned the rising level of insecurity in our State.
“This is simply scary and unacceptable,” he said.
Nwosu called on Gov. Chukwuma Soludo to protect the citizens and ensure that those involved in such a nefarious act to be apprehended and brought to justice immediately.
He said government should not abdicate it’s responsibility of protecting innocent and defenseless citizens with their property.
“I received with deep sadness the news of the gory killing of several people in the Nibo community on Sunday.
“As the true story of the gruesome shooting unfolds, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and injured.
“We envisage an expeditious and full investigation of this heinous act with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book,” he said.
