Erosion Threatens Anambra Camp As 2,200 Commence Orientation
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra on Monday swore in a total of 2,207 new corps members comprising 1, 1046 and 1161 are females for 2021 Batch B Stream 1 orientation course.
Mrs Yetunde Baberinwa, the Coordinator of NYSC performed the ceremony at the Mbaukwu/Umuawulu permanent orientation camp.
Baderin used the ceremony to draw attention to erosion activities which were destroying the landscape of the camp and called on Gov. Willie Obiano to save the situation.
According to Baderinwa erosion menace is seriously threatening the beautiful orientation camp in Anambra..
“A causal look at the camp reveals that different portions have already been ravaged by the erosion.
“If the erosion menace was urgently checked it will destroy the beauty the camp has attracted in the state.
“We therefore passionately appeal to the governor to expedite action on the landscaping of the premises currently under serious threat of erosion,” she said.
Baderinwa who doubled as representative of the governor said the corps members were admitted into the camp with full compliance to COVID-19 protocol while assuring that the camp was safe.
She thanked the State Government for the support NYSC had enjoyed in Anambra while promising that the scheme would continue to complement man power demand in the state in specific areas of need.
