Madubuko Assumes Stool As Traditional Ruler Of Adazi-Ani
Chief (Dr)Chinedu Madubuko, has been installed as the traditional ruler of Adazi Ani Community in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra.
Madubuko, a businessman and founder of De Chico Group, was crowned by the Council of Chiefs and religious leaders of the community amidst supplication and celebration on Saturday.
He will be known as the ‘Eze Chinechendo of Adazi Ani’.
High profile guests including Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Mr Peter Obi, Dr Chris Nigeria, Sen. Victor Umeh among other dignitaries graced the installation ceremony.
Addressing the mammoth crowd after his decoration, Madubuko said he accepted his nomination by the people of Adazi Ani for the throne after months of reluctance.
He said the earnest desire of community elders and fervent prayer to God made him change his mind and accept to assume the stool.
Igwe Madubuko appreciated the people of Adazi Ani for their support and confidence in him to be their leader while assuring that he would work towards sustained peace, unity and progress of the community.
“It is on record that this is the best and the most seamless coronation we have had anywhere in Anambra.
“I made you a promise that I will treat Adazi Ani as my personal business and I will take it as my family because nobody wants his family to be destroyed.
“May this day be the beginning of greater things to come, I will work for all of you as your leader,” he said.
In his address of welcome, Prof. Obikwelu Okonkwo, the President General of Adazi-Ani Town Union described the occasion as historic and memorable which marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the community.
Okonkwo said it was a day of reflection, thanksgiving, renewed hope and celebration of the continuity of their rich cultural heritage and reaffirmation of their collective commitment to love, peace, unity and progress.
He appreciated the guests including individuals, groups, Anambra government and Federal government who joined in the celebration for their support.
“Today’s ceremony symbolises far more than the transfer of royal authority. It represents continuity, responsibility, accountability, and service.
“The crown, being bestowed upon our new monarch, is not merely an ornament of honour but a sacred symbol of leadership, justice, compassion, wisdom, and selfless service to the people.
“As our new King ascends the royal throne, we are confident that his reign will usher in an era characterised by peace, security, economic growth, educational advancement, cultural preservation, infrastructure development and harmonious coexistence.
